Officials from the United Arab Emirates attended the seventh preparatory meeting with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministry of Interior Undersecretaries in Qatar this week.

The meeting is one way that the UAE and GCC are preparing for the 16th Consultative Meeting of the GCC Interior Ministers. The participants discussed numerous topics in order to improve cooperation and coordination between the various GCC member states that are involved in a range of security developments and joint security fields. They discussed the most recent security developments that could concern directly to the GCC.

The agreements made during this meeting will be presented to the public at the next GCC Interior Ministers meeting.

Lt. Gen. SAIF Abdullah Al Sha’far led the UAE delegation. Members of the Undersecretary at the Minister of Interior are Brig. Gen. Rashid Sultan Al Khodr (vice chairman of the Legal Council at the Ministry of Interior), Capt. Majid Al Suwaidi (the undersecretary Diwan at the Ministry of Interior), Lt. Col. Ahmed Saeed Al Mazroui (head of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Interior),

Lt. Col. Jamal Saif Fares (director of the Legal Affairs Department in HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Diwan), and

Lt. Col.

Ahmed Mohammed Al Marar (director of the Governmental Affairs Department at the Diwan).
