The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Finance has announced
that it will begin to upload the Emirates ID number to the Federal Financial
System pursuant to circular number three for 2016, issued on March 4 of this year.

The ministry noted that it will withhold July salaries of employees with
incomplete or inaccurate national ID details.

The ministry also urged all federal entities to make sure
they complete uploading of the Emirates ID number, which is an essential
reference to speed up government transactions for all employees of the federal
government.

Mariam Al Amiri, assistant undersecretary for
the Management of Financial Resources, noted that having the correct data in
place for all government employees will facilitate transactions, and also allow
employees to follow up on their requests in a fast and accurate manner. Al
Amiri further highlighted the link between the Emirates ID number and federal
government projects.
