UAE Ministry of Finance hosts forum to celebrate Emirati Women’s Day

As part of the national celebration of Emirati Women’s Day, the UAE Ministry of Finance held a “Women and Innovation” forum at its Dubai office.

The forum highlighted the

Ministry of Finance’s efforts to promote women’s empowerment concerns leading to the launch of a number of projects and programs to develop legislative and regulatory frameworks to support women in business.

“The Ministry of Finance adopted a number of smart systems to strengthen the regulatory framework for key sectors and develop the government financial work according to the best international practices,” Mariam Mohammad Al Amiri, assistant undersecretary for the Management of Financial Resources, said. “The ministry’s smart initiatives include the innovative and integrated federal financial system which follows best international practices, the shift from cash basis to accrual basis system and UAE’ Funds Transfer System.”

Al Amiri stressed the government’s support for women has led to key successes over the past few years on government, entrepreneurial and volunteering projects.

Participants in the forum also highlighted women’s successes in managing Ministry of Finance projects such as the UAE unified financial report, the Emirates Gate of Government Finance Statistics reports and the Classification of the Functions of Government.
