The fifth Chief Audit Executive Conference recently awarded all three of its internal audit award categories to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The event was held by the UAE Internal Auditors Association.

The RTA earned the Fighting of Administrative Corruption Award, the Information Technology & Cyber Crimes Award and the Governance, Risk and Control Award.

“This achievement stands out as a clear testimony of the high level of professional standards adopted by RTA’s internal audit,” Mattar Al Tayer, director-general and chairman of RTA’s board of executive directors, said. “RTA is always keen on achieving excellence and adopting the best practices in all relevant areas, which resulted in scooping these awards, the first of their kind in the UAE.”

The UAE Internal Auditors Association used a clear set of criteria to determine the winners of the awards and allowed conference attendees to vote for the best practices.

“Sweeping all internal audit award categories in this key conference is indicative of the high professional approach adopted by RTA in the best interest of business processes,” Abdullah Al Jawai, director of RTA’s Internal Audit Department, said. “RTA’s leadership, represented by RTA’s director-general and chairman of the board of executive directors, always drives the Internal Audit Department towards excellence, innovation and the adoption of the world’s best practices.”
