New faculty members at United Arab
Emirates University (UAEU) were treated to an orientation recently that showcased the many modern resources available to help them in their work.

The orientation, organized by the Center for Excellence in
Teaching and Learning (CETL), was held in the College of Information
Technology Building. Many faculty members
and center administrators took part.

CETL Director Hassan Selim said the center offers training courses for faculty aimed at strengthening teaching and learning methods, fostering professional development and creating an educational environment for students that gives them the best chance to become community leaders.

An introductory presentation focused on the CETL, which was founded in 1990. It detailed the center’s initiatives, such as smart learning and how modern technology can be applied to teaching, as well as its organizational structure.
