Forty young Emiratis recently embarked on a voyage to develop the skills needed to establish careers in ship building and repair.

Those enrolled in the program will receive 1,120 hours of practical and theoretical training. They then will be evaluated to determine which of them will focus on electrical skills and which will receive more mechanical training.
“In line with the government’s vision of fostering Emirati talent, we are committed to developing ship building and technical capabilities in the UAE,” ADSB CEO Khaled Al Mazrouei said. “The new training program offers an exciting career path for Emirati youth within an industry that is contributing to the wider economic development of Abu Dhabi.”
ADSB hires graduates from a wide range of backgrounds to fill technical and non-technical positions each year. Among the backgrounds considered for the technical positions are marine engineering, ship building technology and naval architecture.
