Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recently announced that the Standing Committee for Training and Scholarships has held its 23rd
meeting for the academic year 1436/1437H.

UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Dr. Thamer al-Harbi oversaw the meeting, with Supervisor General of
Scholarships Dr. Ahmed Barqawi and all other committee members
attending.

During the meeting, the committee developed a set of eight
recommendations for the upcoming school year. Among them are goals that see 20 teaching assistants receive scholarships, three students have their
scholarships terminated, two students have their country of scholarship change and four students have their university of scholarship change. Additionally,
one student will have his major change, two students will extend their
undergraduate scholarships, eight students will extend their scholarships to
enroll in a Ph.D. program, and seven students will extend their scholarships to
study a foreign language.
