University offers food for thought at ‘Idea Café’ events

Ajman University’s efforts to prepare students for entrepreneurship widened its reach recently with the first of a series of
“Idea Café” events.

The events, being offered on the first Thursday of every month, are organized by the university’s Innovation Center Ajman (ICA), which is focused on  on incubating ideas into profitable enterprises and helping young entrepreneurs succeed. The overall goal is help develop rapid, sustainable economic growth to help the United Arab Emirates achieve success
with its “Vision 2021” plan.

 

At the first ‘Idea Café event, guest speaker Jacqueline Winstanley gave a talk titled “Creating the 2030 Agenda Paradigm Shift: Inclusive
Entrepreneurship.” She talked about her conviction to create
equal access to opportunities and support inclusive environments. Winstanley also discussed a global campaign meant to create entrepreneurial opportunities for disabled people.

A question-and-answer session with students and faculty followed Winstanley’s talk.
