University students meet their possible future selves

Ajman University
students as well as those from other area schools got to see where their
career path could take them during a live event known as “Voices of
Hope,” Ajman University announced recently.

The event, organized
by the university’s Office of Community Service, gave students with a
variety of aspirations a chance to listen to and talk with those who
have come before them and made their way to success. The students got
the chance to meet with young leaders in many top Middle Eastern and
North African industries and startups to talk about employment
opportunities.
 
Sulaf Al-Zu’bi, CEO of Injaz UAE, spoke about overcoming obstacles
through passion and focus and about her “expand your horizons” project
that promotes youth education. Abdullah Al-Qadi, executive director at Crescent
Petroleum, and with Adel Al-Obathani, senior sales manager at Marriott,
emphasized using LinkedIn as a social networking tool. Anas Bukhash, managing
director of Bukhash Brothers, discussed what he called the three “P”s to career
success: passion, planning and perseverance.

“Voices of Hope” was initiative founded by MBC Al-Amal in conjunction with Injaz Al-Arab.
