Vinli, the connected car platform based in Dallas, said Monday it is expanding its operations beyond the United States by partnering with VIVA Bahrain to bring its cloud-connected system to the Middle East.

Vinli offers a cutting-edge cloud-connected system for automobiles that includes 4G LTE powered by T-Mobile.

The partnership with VIVA Bahrain, a subsidiary of Saudi Telecom Company (STC), was announced at the Mobile World Congress and is a significant milestone for Vinli and its goal of connecting 1 billion cars to their system worldwide.

The growing number of people using cars in the Middle East, the increasing number of car sales and a rising GDP are the main factors behind the move by Vinli to expand into the region. A higher percentage of people are using the Internet and mobile devices, which has put car connectivity in high demand. This coupled with the fact that Bahrain’s fastest growing enterprises are transportation and communications  fueled the move by Vinli.

Expanding its services to new regions around the world presents Vinli with a great opportunity for growth not just for the car connectivity industry, but for carmakers, telecom providers and software companies as well.
