Telecommunications provider Vodaphone Qater named Ian Gray to be the new CEO of the Doha company on Tuesday.

Gray comes to the Qatar location from Vodaphone Egypt, where he served as chairman of the board for more than 14 years and was also the company’s chief executive officer.

“I and the entire board of Vodafone Qatar are delighted to welcome Ian to Qatar,” Vodaphone Qatar Chairman Sheikh Khalid Bin Thani Al-Thani said. “I am sure that Ian’s rich experience will ensure that Vodafone continues to bring better value and world class customer experience to Qatar.”

Vodaphone is one of the world’s largest telecommunications groups. Founded in March 2009, it has grown to include a state-of-the-art converged IP network, fiber-based consumer and enterprise fixed-line services and a full range of telecommunications infrastructure services.
