The Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) is expanding its focus to include sectors contributing to a sustainable future. This move aligns with advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), establishing WETEX as a global platform for energy companies aiming to enhance their AI investments in renewable energy. It also serves as a hub for AI-focused organizations and technology companies seeking solutions for increasing energy demands and emissions reduction.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organizes WETEX annually under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. The exhibition offers insights into AI investment opportunities across various sectors such as clean energy, oil, water, and digitalization.

“WETEX translates the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum… positioning the UAE among the world’s swiftest adopters of AI,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. Last year’s event featured 2,800 exhibitors from 65 countries and attracted over 50,000 visitors globally.

The exhibition promotes technologies supporting renewable energy development to meet data centers’ growing demands while reducing emissions. Despite AI’s potential in emission reduction, Microsoft reported a 30% increase in carbon emissions between 2020 and 2023 due to data center construction.

Khalid Bin Hadi from Siemens Energy expressed pride in supporting WETEX as a Principal Sponsor: “Our longstanding partnership with DEWA… reflects our strong commitment to advancing the energy transition.”

Noaman Amjad from Hitachi Energy highlighted their role as Platinum Sponsor: “Hitachi Energy is proud to serve… making electricity more accessible to all.” Their participation emphasizes pioneering technologies that support key initiatives like the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.

Abdulkarim Al Maazmi from Dragon Oil stated: “The UAE is taking pioneering steps in artificial intelligence across various industries.” Dragon Oil’s involvement in WETEX demonstrates their commitment to leveraging AI for sustainability.

The upcoming 27th edition of WETEX will take place from September 30 to October 2, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
