Winners announced at 8th annual Arabia CSR Awards

Twenty public and private sector organizations were honored this week at the eighth annual Arabia CSR Awards backed by the United Nations Global Compact and United Nations Environment Programme. 

Hawkamah and Terous hosted the event, which is sponsored by the League of Arab States, for the second year in a row.
Awards are based on a company’s adherence to the U.N. Global Compact 10 Principles, the GRI Principles of Sustainability Reporting, and the EFQM Excellence Model.

More than 131 applications were received.

The winner in the Public Sector category was Emirates Transport. First runner-up was Dubai Electricity and Water Authority – DEWA, and second runners-up were Al Ain Distribution Co. and Dubai Customs.

The winner in the Large-Sized Enterprise category was Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. First runners-up were Medcare Hospital  and Al Futtaim Carillion. The second runner-up was Farnek.

in the Medium-Sized Enterprise category was Petrochemical Industries Co. First runner-up was Al Jazeera International Catering and second runner-up was ABB Qatar. 

The Small-Sized category winner was Road Safety UAE.

Winner in the Energy category were Masdar and Gulf Grilling International. The winner in the Financial Services category was Wi BMCE Bank.

The New Business category winner was Green Design.

The winner in the Partnerships and Collaborations category was Emirates NBD. First runner-up was Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. and second runner-up:was DLA Piper.

The Social Enterprise category winner was Green Design.
