Zain has reinforced its involvement in Kuwait’s gaming and esports sector by serving as the strategic success partner for the inaugural edition of The Base Gaming Festival. The event aligns with Zain’s commitment to advancing the digital economy, supporting young talent, and fostering creative industries as growth drivers in Kuwait.

The festival took place over the weekend and drew more than 15,000 attendees from various age groups. Notable figures present included Bashar Abdullah, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sport in Kuwait; Malek Hammoud, Chief Investment and Digital Transformation Officer at Zain Group; and Waleed Al Khashti, Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer at Zain Kuwait. Content creators and celebrities also participated to enhance the experience for visitors.

Zain’s participation is part of its broader strategy through its esports brand, Zain Esports, which seeks to integrate gaming into daily digital life. The company continues to invest in network infrastructure to ensure a high-quality gaming experience characterized by stable connectivity and low latency.

During the festival, Zain hosted an interactive area called the Zain Zone where visitors could participate in mobile gaming sessions, live competitions, challenges, and interact directly with members of the Zain Esports team.

“Zain continues to develop Zain Esports as a platform that supports the gaming and esports community, aiming to build a sustainable ecosystem through tournaments, partnerships, content development, and by creating spaces that unlock real opportunities for talent.”

The company stated that it will maintain its support for gaming through further initiatives designed to foster local ecosystem growth and create pathways for discovering new talent. This approach is consistent with its vision of enhancing digital experiences within the community.

Zain Esports operates across the region as part of Zain Group’s efforts to support both international and local competitions such as EA Sports FC and PUBG Mobile tournaments. It runs advanced training centers like the Zain eSports Lab in Bahrain and Jordan.

According to the company: “Zain Esports aims to build vibrant digital communities that bring together gaming enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels, while strengthening the digital economy by empowering youth and creators across the region. Its large-scale live and interactive activations have generated millions of views.”
