Zayed Sports City celebrates fifth anniversary of expansions

Zayed Sports City, the leading entertainment and sports venue in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), recently celebrated five years of hosting international events in Abu Dhabi.

Managed by Abu Dhabi Entertainment Company (ADEC),

is part of the infrastructure and real estate portfolio of Mabudala Development Company.

“Under ADEC’s management, we have implemented a strategy at Zayed Sports City to expand its overall offering during the past five years and believe that the venue significantly contributes to the social infrastructure and healthy lifestyles of people in Abu Dhabi,”

The venue’s latest strategy began in April 2010, and since then there have been 24 new activities that the city has delivered to the public. The event center has welcomed more than 5 million visitors for soccer alone during that time, as Zayed Sports City has doubled its size and received numerous awards.

“The growth of Zayed Sports City since 2010 has been staggering, with massive increases to football and facilities,”

Barry Bremner said. “Our ambition has been to provide first class facilities to the people of Abu Dhabi, while attracting global events that promote sport and entertainment and contribute to the diversification of the local economy. I believe that we have delivered this in the past five years.

“Internationally, we are also building our brand, playing host to a variety of international tournaments and positioning ourselves as a world-class training venue with a wide range of international, Premier League and Bundesliga football teams using our facilities each year,” Bremner said.
