Northrop Grumman Corp.'s Sperry Marine subsidiary has selected Marine Electricals Limited (MEL) as its sales and service representative for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Northrop Grumman said on Monday.
"This new partnership will help strengthen MEL's position as a major supplier of ship monitoring and control systems for onboard power management and dynamic positioning," Vinay Uchil, MEL's managing director, said.
Under the agreement, MEL will provide a complete range of Sperry Marine's products, systems and services to customers in the UAE and surrounding region.
Products to be offered include the VisionMaster FT family of products and navigation systems NAVIGAT Gyrocompasses, NAVIPILOT and NAVIGUIDE Autopilots, and NAVIKNOT Speed Logs. MEL also will provide service support for these products.
"The developing marine markets in the UAE are very important to Sperry Marine. MEL's leadership and excellent knowledge of the market will be key factors in our growth in this region," Jan Hansen, Sperry Marine's director of business development, said. "In addition to Sperry Marine's many customers in the UAE, there are considerable numbers of transiting vessels for which fast, efficient service and support are critical. This agreement with MEL will greatly enhance Sperry Marine's service capability in the region."
Since 2010, MEL has been the sales and service provider for Sperry Marine in India and has been active in the Middle East for 15 years.
