Globe Telecom partners with du to lower international rates

Globe Telecom Inc. is partnering with du, an United Arab Emirates-based telecomunications company, to provide overseas Filipino workers (OFW) in the Middle East with lower international direct-dialing rates.

Globe said the offer permits prepaid mobile subscribers in the Middle East to call the Philippines at a rate 20 percent less than other networks.

"We’re excited about this partnership with du as we jointly work toward providing even more value to our customers in the UAE,” Globe Senior Vice President for International Business Rizza Maniego-Eala said. “The seven Emirates have afforded our fellow Filipinos with wonderful opportunities to live in a vibrant environment and work in a progressive economy.”

Globe prepaid subscribers in the UAE are now able to call home for 0.097 cents per minute.

“There are close to 1 million OFWs in the UAE, and we at Globe have endeavored to forge ties with a top telecommunications company like du to provide Filipinos abroad with better, more accessible means to call home,” Globe Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for International and Business Markets Gil Genio said.

This is Globe Telcom’s sixth co-branded partnership including Japan, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong.
