The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, along with the Sudanese Ministry of Investment, is hosting the United Arab Emirates-Sudan Investment Forum today and tomorrow.
Chamber officials hope the forum will lead to efforts by officials in Sudan to bring in Emirati investments and highlight investment opportunities in Sudan.
His Excellency Mohammed Thani Murshid Al-Rumaithi, chairman of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said there has been much movement in relations between the UAE and Sudan, which is becoming one of the UAE's leading trade partners.
“We look forward for this forum to achieve positive results that benefit the economies of both countries and to provide complete information and data on the investment climate and available investment opportunities for investors in the UAE as well as provide all that is necessary to increase the number of Emirati investments in Sudan,” Al-Rumaithi said.
His Excellency Mohammed Helal Al-Muhairi, director general of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, hopes the forum will lead to joint investment projects.
"The private sector needs to take the initiative and work towards enhancing cooperation relations between countries through joint businesses and exploiting available opportunities,” he said.
