The addition of 20,000 hotel rooms in Dubai and Abu Dhabi hotels in 2016 will increase competition among commercial laundry companies, the Middle East Cleaning Technology Week (MECTW) organizers said Tuesday.
The commercial laundry industry is closely tied to the fortunes of the hospitality sector. A survey by MECTW revealed a hotel’s commercial laundry services 1,500 pieces of linen on a weekday and an average of 2,000 on weekends.
Virtual Info Services Chairman Jayaraman Nair said expanding hotel chains and new units are driving demand for commercial laundry services.
“Through MECTW, industry players gain an opportunity to share their insights on the latest innovations and commercial laundry solutions that will help the hospitality and health care experts understand the importance of our industry and its impact on the grand scheme of operations," Nair said.
MECTW, which takes place Nov. 2-4 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition, offers laundry companies the opportunity to promote scientific cleaning practices and the latest products, technologies and services to potential buyers in the Middle East and North African region. For the first time, MECTW will offer two new platforms – laundry and car wash – and a special outdoor section dedicated to street cleaning solutions and equipment.
