Abu Dhabi Police host forum to advance technological use

Interior Minister  and Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi  recently opened the fifth forum to exchange technological knowledge and ideas at the General Headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP).

As Al Nuaimi emphasized that the police in the region are eager to keep up with modern technology to best serve their communities, the ADP displayed the best use for state-of-the-art systems and modern technologies as well as how these innovations can enhance police operations.

“This forum embodies the vision of the Abu Dhabi Police, which aims to ensure that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi remains a safe and secure society through the provision of high-quality police services for citizens, residents and visitors,” the Secretary General said.

A work paper previously submitted by Leslie Ding, the Director of Electronic Systems at the U.K. Metropolitan Police, showed how the new information and communication technology policies can help the ADP improve its police work.

“Innovation not only exists within the department, it is also demonstrated every time we show competence and support innovation, and whenever there is a factor that affects work such as crime, cost and public confidence,” Owen Wyatt, assistant director of electronic systems at the U.K. Metropolitan Police, said. “Innovation leads to improvement.”
