The Dubai Health Authority said it recently started performing developmental inspections on health care facilities in Dubai, in addition to surprise visits and regular inspections.
The goal of the inspections is to guarantee that the facilities receive adequate, ongoing support and advice that will help health care workers enhance the quality of care they give to patients. Workers are encouraged to keep up with the latest international benchmarks on health care facilities, as Dubai strives to raise its standards.
“As a part of the Dubai Health Authority’s commitment to achieve the highest quality of medical service and to keep up with the comprehensive and integrated development in the medical field, we decided to implement developmental inspections,” Dr. Layla Al Marzouqi, director of health regulation and the Dubai Medical Tourism Project, said. “After the inspections, we will regularly follow up with health facilities to ensure they receive support and advice through the implementation stage, and the initiative is free of cost. Health care facilities will have a time frame to adhere to the requirements.”
Al Marzouqi emphasized that annual, regular inspections and surprise inspections will continue, in addition to these new developmental inspections.
