Imdaad, a leading supplier of integrated facilities management solutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), recently partnered with WMS Metal Industries, a local company and leading developer that focuses on designing and manufacturing environmental products, to develop a new recycling system in Dubai.
Senior executives at Imdaad said that this recycling initiative will be the first of its kind in the world, diverting approximately 2,000 tons of waste each year from landfills in an effort to create a cleaner environment and better quality of life for residents.
The new system, which WMS Metal Industries will install, involves retrofitting the existing residential garbage chutes that are already located throughout Dubai. This makes it easier for residents to recycle and support the ecosystem.
“We are very proud to announce this new initiative that we are implementing in partnership with WMS Metal Industries,” Mahmood Rasheed, chief operating officer at Imdaad, said. “This collaborative effort not only ensures the proper disposal of solid waste, but also helps drive in an increased awareness on the importance of recycling — particularly in the move to protect our environment. We remain steadfast in our commitment to play a key role in the UAE’s vision to achieve total sustainability and be one of the world’s leading green and smart cities.”
