A recent announcement states that Crescent Enterprises, a conglomerate based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has chosen to lengthen its partnership with Cheri Blair Foundation for Women as the two organizations seek to improve female entrepreneurship within the Middle East.
The goal of the partnership, which began last year, is to empower and support female entrepreneurs in the area. In continuing its accomplishments, the organizations has a new group of male and female employees who will offer a variety of professional guidance and expertise. Their industries include law, business development, digital literacy, finance, communication and marketing. The services will be provided via the Mentor Women in Business Programme, which is part of the Foundation’s unique online presence.
Estimates show that young female unemployment rates are especially high in North Africa and the Middle East; 39.4 percent of Middle Eastern young women are unemployed, and 34.1 percent are unemployed in North Africa.
“The high female unemployment and attrition rates in the Arab Region represents a significant loss of highly educated talent,” Crescent Enterprises Corporate Citizenship Manager Ola al Haj Hussin said. “In extending our partnership with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, we hope to be able to continue to encourage and support more women develop their business acumen as they embark on their own entrepreneurial journeys. In turn, these women will also play a very significant role in addressing the most pressing community needs, spurring sustainable growth by creating job opportunities for others as they witness their own professional success.”
