The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry honored 20 companies at the eighth Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Awards ceremony in Dubai on Wednesday.
The ceremony was attended by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Department of Civil Aviation, CEO and chairman of The Emirates Group, and chairman of Dubai World. In addition, a number of government ministers, representatives from business councils and groups, and prominent businessmen attended the event.
Winners of this year's Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award were selected based on performance, growth, innovation and excellence.
They included: in the Finance category, Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Union National Bank and Sharjah Islamic Bank; in the Services category, World Security, du-Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, RAK Hospital and British Orchard Nursery; in the Trade category, Arabian Automobiles Co. L.L.C., Union Cooperative Society, EPPCO Lubricants and Aster Pharmacy Group L.L.C.; in the Manufacturing category, Drydocks World – Dubai and Kimoha Entrepreneurs Ltd.; in the Transport and Logistics category, School Transport Services LLC; in the Construction category, NPCC – National Petroleum Construction Company; and for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) companies, KiCE Manufacturing, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, Gulf Energy SAOC and Innovative Solutions.
The Most Outstanding Performance Award for 2014 in the United Arab Emirates went to Arabian Automobiles Co. L.L.C.
Most Outstanding Performance Award for 2014 in the GCC was presented to Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company in Bahrain.
A special recognition trophy was presented to H.E. Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, chairman of the Dubai Chamber, for his valuable contribution to Dubai’s business community.
