Aaron Shum Jewelry Ltd., Mark Lui and Gibson Brands have partnered together in the creation of the Eden of Coronet guitar that was named a Guinness World Record holder in the category of the most valuable guitar.

The guitar incorporates 400 carat diamonds and has a worth of approximately $2 million. The design was inspired by nature in the design of the guitar which consists of 1.6 kilograms of 18 karat gold. Aaron Shum Jewelry Ltd. and Lui led the design of this instrument.

The production of the instrument took nearly two years to complete with 62 jewelers from both Aaron Shum's company and its subsidiary Lifestyle Fine Jewelry taking part.

Henry Juszkiewicz, chairman and CEO of Gibson Brands, said that this instrument is a blending of cultures and industries. He also stated in a report from Gibson Brands that this is considered a milestone for the company as it looks to expand into other markets and industries.

The guitar is a Gibson SG model and was first showcased at the Baselworld 2015 exhibition, an international showcase for luxury timepieces in March. In an article from Guitarplayer.com, Lui said the model was chosen for this project because it is perceived as a masculine instrument, but he saw feminine aspects to its design and that allowed him to open up creativity in utilizing the space of the instrument's body.
