KEF Holdings was recently named a finalist for the 2015 Responsible Business Awards, an initiative of the Prince of Wales’ Responsible Business Network.
KEF Holdings was added to the shortlist of the Unilever Global Development category, along with six other companies. Overall, 63 companies have been chosen as finalists in 14 categories.
The awards are meant to recognize the most responsible businesses in the world. The companies must be active in their communities and in addressing environmental as well as social issues.
“I am humbled and pleased to be considered for such a highly coveted professional recognition,” Faizal E. Kottikollon, founder and chairman of KEF Holdings, said. “The shortlist for this year’s Responsible Business Awards echoes the diversity, diligence and dedication of the region's very best business leaders."
KEF Holdings' flagship initiative is called PRISM (Promoting Regional Schools to International Standards through Multiple Interventions), which is acclaimed for its success in upgrading and rebuilding the 120-year old Government Vocational Higher Secondary School at Nadakkavu in Calicut.
"For KEF Holdings, the PRISM project is an evolving story that we look to improve upon each year to transform the lives of the underprivileged children," Kottikollon said. “A balanced environment is critical for the development of a heathy mind. We are therefore committed to providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and education facilities to children that can assist in realizing their dreams and directing their future. This honor is truly a celebration of all that our employees have worked for and accomplished.”
Business in the Community runs the awards.
“The Responsible Business Awards give a much-needed visibility to organizations that are placing responsible behavior at the heart of how they do business,” Stephen Howard, chief executive of Business in the Community, said. “The finalists are each playing their part to create a fairer society and more sustainable future by bringing to life the practical role that businesses can take to address some of our most pressing issues. We congratulate KEF Holdings for being an inspirational example for others to learn from.”
