Shanghai Yaming Lighting Co., a Chinese-based lighting technology and solutions firm, opened a new Middle East regional office in Dubai Silicon Oasis on Monday.
Shanghai Yaming Lighting is known for intelligent lighting control systems and energy-saving products. The company leaders hope the new regional branch will advance the firm’s standing in the Middle East.
“Dubai emerged as the top choice for our regional headquarters given its leading status across diverse economic indicators,” Shanghai Yaming Lighting Chairman Zhuang Shenan said. “We consider this development an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the best of our illuminating solutions and lighting applications for the benefit of this region.”
An integrated free zone technology park, Dubai Silicon Oasis is designed as a large umbrella space to draw tech companies from around the world. There they benefit from tax breaks from Saudi customs as well as a platform to network and showcase new products.
Opening a regional office in the United Arab Emirates could prove a shrewd move on the part of Shanghai Yaming Lighting. The company is responsible for much of the fascinating lighting that marks the skyscrapers of Shanghai, and the booming influx of mega-buildings in Dubai and Abu Dhabi could provide ample opportunity to put that innovative lighting experience to good use.
