The Ministry of the Interior of Saudi Arabia recently bought four C295W aircrafts in an open competition to improve its operational capabilities.
Before making the purchase, representatives from the nation’s Ministry of the Interior conducted a full evaluation of the airbuses. They selected these C295W for specific reasons, such as their capabilities in severe conditions, like hot weather, as well as their reduced operational costs and affordable maintenance.
This new order was made in addition to several orders that the Ministry of the Interior received from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan and Oman. This latest transaction from Saudi Arabia finalizes the C295 airbus’s position as the top medium transport and patrol craft on the market. It is one of the most popular purchases in the Northern Africa and Middle Eastern region.
“We are very proud that the C295W is joining the Airbus A330 MRTT Multi-Role Tanker Transport and CN235 transports previously ordered by Saudi Arabia,” Antonio Rodríguez Barberán, Airbus head of commercial and military aircraft, said. "We greatly appreciate the confidence shown in the C295W by a nation with long expertise in operating military aircraft in desert conditions."
