Al Meera Consumer Goods Co. was named to the list of the top 10 performing companies among the 43 businesses listed on the Qatar Exchange as the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted its first-ever awards ceremony for business excellence this week.
The event was organized by Oryx Media and took place at the Hilton, Doha.
"We are very pleased to be among the top 10 companies listed on the stock exchange in terms of performance, according to Qatar Today, because this event not only awards the companies on their achievements, but also sheds light on the evolution of the corporate culture in Qatar," Mohammed Nasser Al Qahtani, deputy chief executive officer of Al Meera Consumer Goods Co.,
said.
Al Qahtani cited Al Meera's adaptability, innovation and vision as ways the company has overcome challenges while at the same time increasing its market value and generating returns for shareholders.
Qatar Today's Awards for Business Excellence are given to the top performing companies in recognition of various achievements. The goal is to encourage local firms to take an active role in the development of the Qatari economy.
Awards were given in two categories. In the first, companies were assessed according to financial performance; in the other companies that achieved excellence in business and the economy in keeping with the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030 were recognized.
