The board of directors of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) gathered for its second meeting to discuss current regulations for health investment in the city last week.
His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, board chairman, and his fellow board members also discussed the DHA's decision to develop a health investment committee that will be charged with the promotion and development of health-related investments in Dubai. The committee also will help secure needed services that will boost the emirate's health sector and provide residents with easier access to highly specialized health care services.
Board members also decided to form a DHA medical council to further develop the functions of health care providers under the auspices of the DHA.
Another topic of discussion at the meeting was providing smart services and ways to make them available to areas covered by the DHA as well as the importance of making sure patients have easy access to health information and services.
The board also plans to develop medical education programs in the future, Al Qatami said, so Dubai will continue to attract highly qualified health professionals.
