Oman Air recently chose Thales' AVANT in-flight entertainment system for use in its upcoming fleet expansion.
AVANT systems will be installed in Oman Air's 16 new B737s, three new A330s and six new B787s, according to an announcement made by representatives from Thales at the Paris Air Show last week.
The new aircraft are the first Boeing wide-body fleet being delivered to Oman Air. They will be equipped with the AVANT Android system and Thales' Touch PMU handset. With these new features, passengers will have access to a wide selection of on-demand entertainment delivered through a passenger experience interface developed specifically for the Oman Air fleet.
To date, AVANT has been selected by 19 airlines with more than 130 aircraft flying with the entertainment system. Current orders will take that number to more than 500 aircraft.
The system can operate on all new generation Boeing and Airbus platforms.
