TechSci Research said June 8 that the air conditioner market in the United Arab Emirates is set to grow 8 percent through 2020.
The growth is expected to be driven by hot temperatures, population growth, increased purchasing power and large upcoming construction projects in the nation. The market’s growth will also be propelled by tech advancements like energy efficient units and the development of air conditioners with built-in air purifiers.
“Owing to the enforcement of various energy efficiency labeling standards by the government, the demand for energy efficient air conditioners in the UAE is growing at a significant pace, which will help the country in making significant savings in the overall electricity consumption over the next five years,” TechSci Research
Research Director
Karan Chechi said. “Awareness regarding the adverse effects of using noncertified products which release harmful gases is increasing the demand for air conditioners with built-in air purifiers in the country.”
The United Arab Emirates has the seventh-highest income per capita in the world, which is leading to increased urbanization which in turn increases demand for air conditioning systems across the nation.
While both central air conditioning and room-based units are set to see rising sales, the country’s air conditioner market has traditionally been dominated by central air systems, which will benefit the most from the market growth.
