Net Medical Xpress and T-4 to bring telemedicine to Iraq and Saudi Arabia

Net Medical Xpress Solutions, an Albuquerque-based telemedicine provider, is partnering with the T-4 consultancy group to provide services for seven hospitals in both Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

The use of telemedicine is rapidly growing in the healthcare industry, with doctors and technicians providing services around the world with the use of telecommunication technology.

That means that Net Medical Xpress will be providing patients at each of those seven Middle Eastern hospitals with primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, cardiologists, neurologists and trauma specialists without the constraints of geographic boundaries. Net Medical Xpress contracts with more than 500 doctors who worked on over 400 thousand cases in 2013 alone.

“We believe the financial and medical benefits of telemedicine will have an enormous positive impact on healthcare in the United States as well as the rest of the world,” Net Medical CEO Dick Govatski said. “Telemedicine services are going to be particularly valuable to underdeveloped countries that can quickly and easily access the expertise of [U.S.]-based physicians.”

The hospitals set to deploy the technology are all new government-supported modular facilities that will host between 25 and 100 beds. T-4 is currently shipping the modular hospital freight containers to Saudi Arabia and Iraq which will be put in place and ready to use faster than building larger brick-and-mortar hospital buildings.
