Al khaliji, one of Qatar’s largest commercial banks, recently agreed to extend financing to the Al Thumama Mega Reservoir Project, which includes the construction of five massive drinking water mega reservoir sites.
The reservoir project is in line with World Health Organization standards, and is a joint venture between Consolidated Contractors Group and Teyseer Contracting Company.
Consolidated Contractors Group is one of the largest engineering and construction companies in the Middle East with numerous projects in Qatar. Teyseer is one of the nation’s top contracting firms.
Complementing the five large potable water reservoirs, Al Thumama will feature an interconnecting network of scale water pipelines that will have the ability to provide seven days of drinking water storage in the new reservoirs as well as existing secondary ones.
Fahad Al Khalifa, al khaliji Group CEO, said this is the kind of large infrastructure project the bank hopes to fund.
"al khaliji's financing of such imperative development comes as part of the bank's strategy to support the rollout of major infrastructure projects in the State of Qatar and to accommodate the growth requirements of our valuable clients,” Al Khalifa said. “In line with the 2030 National Vision, we will continue to take part in the country's growth alongside renowned international and local companies.”
