Microsoft Bahrain recently partnered with the Bahrain Technology Companies Society to host the country’s first Build Your Business training course, aimed at empowering young entrepreneurs.
This initial weeklong course was attended by 20 young representatives from Bahrain’s businesses and government ministries who were introduced to basic principles for the successful launch, scale up and leadership of small enterprises.
Those who took the course will act as Build Your Business trainers in turn, spreading the material through communities of young business-minded professionals.
Sherif Tawfik, Microsoft’s regional manager in Bahrain and Oman, said the Train the Trainers course laid the groundwork to expand the Build Your Business principles through the region.
“We understand the vital role small businesses play in growing our local economy in Bahrain and helping it thrive,” Tawfik said. “We have a long-standing commitment to helping youth in Bahrain realize their full potential.”
The program’s curriculum uses best practice training content and approaches developed with Microsoft partners, including the International Youth Foundation and university business schools.
The material is designed to be suitable for entrepreneurs across all industries with modules in market research, business planning, marketing, accounting, life skills, and governance and ethical business.
