Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE), a public-private partnership aimed at fast-tracking clean energy projects in the United Arab Emirates, recently agreed to collaborate with Dubai Education LLC on the Green Jobs Programme.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at Canadian University Dubai. It will see DCCE working with Dubai Education’s Centre for Innovation and Creativity (CIEC) to help produce qualitative research for the Green Jobs Programme.
The CIEC is based at the Canadian University.
The two entities plan to work together to foster and educate a new generation of innovative leaders who will take the helm on developing a green economy.
Ivano Iannelli, DCCE’s CEO, said the partnership will benefit students by adding sustainability to course curriculums in the UAE.
“We are looking forward to this partnership with Dubai Education,” Ianelli said. “I commend the Dubai educational system for implementing more tangible knowledge in their curriculum regarding sustainable energy and low carbon economy.”
Karim Chelli, Dubai Education CEO and Canadian University Dubai president, said the goals of DCCE fall perfectly in line with the organizations he leads.
“At Dubai Education, we firmly believe in investing in the development of future leaders,” Chelli said. “Education is the strongest tool we have to influence young minds. Working with DCCE Green Jobs Programme, we are confident that we can help motivate our students to be tomorrow’s leaders.”
