Avaya, the California-based business communications specialists, recently invited firms in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to try out the company’s cloud-based video conferencing platform Avaya Scopia for free.
The 30-day trials are being marketed as a way for UAE businesses to beat the summer heat by staying in comfortably air-conditioned offices instead of leaving to gather for face-to-face meetings.
The technology essentially works like a supercharged Skype that delivers high-quality multi-party video conferencing, file-sharing, and collaborative viewing and editing. Avaya Scopia users can collaborate through the Web to review presentations and look over documents in real-time.
The system is set up to record the actions taken in meetings so people joining a meeting late can review previously shared information without interrupting the rest of the group. The technology is set up so leaders have full control of the meeting’s operation.
Avaya Scopia is optimized for access across desktop and mobile platforms, allowing business owners and employees to replace face-to-face meetings. Users also can connect through video conferencing rooms and add additional users as needed.
More remote places in the Emirates with less bandwidth will have access to advanced audio and video processing that delivers each participant a bandwidth-efficient data stream. That allows businesses even in the farthest corners of the country to see and interact with everyone in a meeting simultaneously.
