Ooredoo recently announced that it has updated 70 percent of its network throughout Oman as part of its three-year efforts to modernize.
As part of the upgrades, the company will implement additional 2G, 3G+, and 4G sites for the upcoming Khareef Festival in Salalah.
In addition, the company’s base stations throughout Salalah have been upgraded to approximately two times more 3G+ capacity, so that Ooredoo customers will have high-speed data access with better Internet browsing outdoors as well as indoors.
The company also said customers attending the festival with 4.5G-capable handsets from the Ooredoo network can gain access to the new LTE Advanced service that comes with 4.5 G and high speeds.
Ooredoo also will have a new, larger stand at the Khareef Festival so that it can accommodate more visitors. Company representatives will offer product and service demonstrations to engage customers during the festival.
