Oman Air announced that it has partnered with Chicago-based Boeing Co. to assist it launch 787 Dreamliner airplanes.
"Boeing's industry-leading services will ensure a smooth introduction of our 787s while controlling costs, minimizing component maintenance time and optimizing our fleet's performance," Salim Al Kindy, chief technical officer for Oman Air, said. "This falls in line with our Shape and Size concept, as we continue to expand our global presence with a young, state of the art fleet of aircraft. This extremely high level of technical support, combined with an award winning service, ensures we continue to stay ahead of our customers' expectations."
Among the services Boeing Co. will provide include supporting Oman with its component services program, loadable software airplane parts service and airplane health management.
By providing these services, it would help Oman minimize the time and cost of maintenance while increasing airplane availability, said Marty Bentrott, senior vice president of Sales for Russia, Middle East and Central Asia, Boeing Commercial Airplanes division.
"Boeing services are a simple way for airlines to reduce the total cost of airplane ownership, giving them a competitive advantage in their markets," Bentrott said.
