Jamal Al Azki is settling into his new role as Oman Air’s country manager for the sultanate, based out of the Omani capital of Muscat.
Al Azki began handling operations in Oman on July 1 after previously holding the position of Oman Air Country Manager in the U.K. and Ireland.
Al Azki began working for Oman Air as a district sales manager in 2009. His aviation career began in the Royal Air Force of Oman, where he worked in air traffic control. Later, Al Azki worked in sales and airport services for Qatar Airways.
“As a proud Omani, it is an honour to take up this role at the heart of our national airline, especially as Oman Air continues its exciting program of expansion,” Al Azki said. "I look forward to building on the strong relationship that Oman Air enjoys with the travel industry."
Oman Air COO Abdulrahaman Al-Busaidy said Al Azki has all the right qualifications to fill the role as country manager in the airline’s hub nation.
"We are delighted to confirm Jamal Al Azki's appointment to the position of country manager for the Sultanate of Oman,” Al-Busaidy said. “He will be a great asset to this station. ... We wish Jamal every success in his new job and we look forward to seeing his positive impact on the Omani market.”
