India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for high-level economic talks, where Modi said working with UAE entrepreneurs could hold the key for India’s major financial and infrastructure goals.
Modi was accompanied by an exclusive group of Indian investors on a trip that marked the first time a sitting Indian head of state has visited the UAE since Indira Gandhi in 1981.
At a roundtable meeting between Indian investors and Emirati companies in Abu Dhabi, Modi said infrastructure and real estate development are the most important factors in India’s economic progress.
The Prime Minister praised KEF Holdings Chairman and Founder Faizal E. Kottikollon for his work spearheading technology-driven construction.
KEF, which specializes in off-site construction technology, applies principles of industrial manufacturing to building construction by incorporating robotic systems and Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing to eliminate waste while significantly reducing time and costs.
The company operates the world’s largest off-site manufacturing facility, the INR 650 Crore KEF Industrial Park in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Part of Modi’s mandate is to build 50 million affordable housing units by 2022, a goal Modi said could be helped along by entrepreneurs such as Kottikollon who have the technology and strategy to help make that vision a reality.
Moveover, Kottikollon and fellow business leaders may have the ability to deliver speedy results without compromising quality.
“KEF’s vision for a developed India is very much aligned with Prime Minister Modi’s ideals of technology in infrastructure driving powerful change,” Kottikollon said. “This is the reason we bring the most advanced technological developments from across the globe, and leverage it to reinforce the foundation of our public infrastructure, housing, educational and health care system.”
