Ithraa, the
Oman sultanate’s inward investment and export promotion agency, has launched an Export Club, as the nation's non-oil-export output continues to grow.
Oman's Chamber of Commerce & Industry and leading businesses nationwide are supporting the club, which is designed to provide a network to help small companies export their goods and help current exporters tackle challenges in international markets.
“Omani exporters face a range of challenges in today’s increasingly competitive global market," Ithraa Director General of Export Development Nasima Al Balushi said. "Some are external, ranging from exchange rates, transport, communication to raw material costs -- others are internal, where companies have the opportunity to take the initiative to drive change forward in innovation, design, marketing, training, technology and logistics. The Export Club has been created to help local non-oil exporters tackle these issues, prosper and grow internationally. I firmly believe that exporting is good for Omani business, good for Omani workers and good for Omani jobs. When Oman exports, Oman prospers."
Omani companies today are competing globally, using innovations, skills, investment and good business practices, selling goods in over 136 countries -- from fiber-optic cable, batteries and luxury perfumes, to automotive spare parts, marble, furniture and food products.
