iPAC-Oman will now be the sultanate’s exclusive partner and representative of iPACT, the Dubai Knowledge Village-based distributor and solution provider for MOS certifications from the Microsoft Company.
Kamal Cherradi, managing director of iPAC-Oman, said the deal is part of a wider national goal that all Omanis gain the IT skills required for Oman to compete in the global economy.
iPAC-Oman will aim to get as many residents as possible certified under IC3 and MOS, the only global standard computing literacy measurement for Microsoft Office Applications. The system is widely recognized as it is integrated into more than two thousand North American colleges and universities.
To be IC3 Certified, candidates need to take three exams in computing fundamentals, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Power Point) and living online. The IC3 training materials and exams are available in Arabic and English in Oman.
“Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) is the only official Microsoft Company certification for Microsoft Office programs,” Raissi said. “It is the only globally recognized Microsoft certification designed to prove desktop computer skills and productivity in business programs used the all over the world.”
Mehdi Raissi, CEO and director of iPACT, said the program will provide the support and services needed for rapidly expanding the IC3 and MOS certifications market in Oman.
“IC3 and MOS complemented with Microsoft IT Academy enables us to provide a complete solution to our customers in the Sultanate of Oman,” Raissi said. “We have established a complete learning and certification model which has been designed and tested in the Gulf countries to produce best results in the Sultanate of Oman.”
