World Export Development Forum comes to Qatar this October.
Qatar Development Bank will host the International Trade Center’s 15th World Export Development Forum in October, marking the first time the global forum has been held in the Middle East.

The World Export Development Forum, to take place Oct. 20 and 21 in Doha, will address the theme of “Sustainable trade: Innovate, invest, internationalize.” The event is expected to draw more than six hundred experts from around world.

The International Trade Center, an international agency dedicated to supporting the internationalization of small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs), recruits experts to facilitate the event for representatives from governments and the private sector. The forum draws delegates from development and export organizations and institutes as well.

The forum will explore the role of the decision-makers and business partners in achieving the goals of sustainable development through empowering SMEs, assisting them in finding innovative solutions for forming new partnerships and entering new markets.

“This year’s WEDF is an opportunity for global thought leaders and business practitioners to discuss how the role of trade can be strengthened in spurring social and economic growth in developing countries,” ITC Executive Director Arancha González said. “Not only will it be a platform to share best practices and know-how, it will be a venue for doing business, as tailored B2B meetings will allow SMEs to tap into new trade opportunities.”

Qatar Development Bank, dedicated to supporting SMEs in Qatar, sees the forum as a means to promote and support smaller enterprises in building export capacity for Qatari companies.
