Amer Hariri was recently named managing director of reinsurance for Malakut Insurance Brokers in the Middle East and Africa (MENA).
In his new role, he is charged with handling Malakut's existing reinsurance portfolio as well as business development for the region.
Hariri has extensive reinsurance experience, having worked throughout the MENA region. He most recently worked for two years for APEX Reinsurance Brokers in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he developed reinsurance operations in Saudi Arabia and Africa.
He launched his career as a trainee at various Lebanese insurance companies before moving on to ASSUREX Insurance Company, where he was assistant reinsurance manager.
Hariri later worked for Zaris Reinsurance Broker as a marine reinsurance broker for the MENA region, eventually becoming the company's reinsurance manager for its Saudi Arabian operations in Jeddah.
Hariri is a native of Bangui, Central African Republic. When he was 5, he moved with his family to Beirut, Lebanon where he graduated from Saint Joseph University with a master's degree in insurance studies.
Malakut is an international insurance and reinsurance brokerage company established in 2000. It specializes in insurance and risk management services for industrial and corporate clients, and reinsurance services for insurance companies.
