Emirates Extrusion Factory to open new plants to meet aluminum demands from builders

The leading United Arab Emirates aluminum extrusion company Emirates Extrusion Factory LLC is commissioning a third extrusion line at its Techno Park Dubai plant, increasing production by 7,000 metric tons of product per year.

Emirates Extrusion Factory (EEF) – a subsidiary of the private equity arm of Dubai Investments PJSC – also announced plans to start up a new powder coating plant with the capacity of coating an estimated 8,400 metric tons of aluminum each year.

The ramp-up in production comes as demand for aluminium products surges with the many construction projects ongoing in the UAE and the wider GCC region.

EEF put out more than 13,000 metric tons last year and is hitting target growth expectations over 10 percent this year. The company is bracing for increased demand in line with its expansion plans into Africa, including markets in Algeria, Angola, Morocco, Tunisia and Kenya. EEF is also expecting increasing demand from Europe as well as in the GCC region.

Khalfan Al Suwaidi, EEF’s managing director, said the ongoing building and construction in the MENA region is pushing major demand for his company’s aluminium products.

“The company is planning to grow 10 percent year-on-year for the next two to three years in the backdrop of this strong demand and growth potential,” Al Suwaidi said. “Emirates Extrusion is also creating the required additional capacity by augmenting its production line and powder coating facilities.”
