The St. Regis Doha, one of the most upscale hotels in Qatar, recently appointed Chef Jean-Luc Morcellet as the new Executive Chef for the hotel’s award-winning restaurants.
Chef Morcellet hails from France and brings more than 20 years of international gourmet experience to his role. Before joining the St. Regis Doha, Morcellet worked in reputable hotel chains in France, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States and Zimbabwe.
As the head of several culinary teams, Morcellet has catered to a number of important personalities, including the late South African President Nelson Mandela. Morcellet is set to bring his applied experience and creativity to the St. Regis Doha, which is expected to add to the excellence of the dishes served and the quality of service.
In his role as Executive Chef at The St. Regis Doha, Morcellet will oversee all culinary aspects of the hotel's various food offerings. Those include the Astor Grill, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Oyster Bay, Sarab Lounge, Al Sultan Brahim and Vine. Morcellet will also be in charge of coordinating menus for banquets and external outside catering.
St. Regis Doha GM Tareq Derbas said the hotel is pleased to bring Morcellet on board.
"We believe that his refined culinary experience and exquisite gastronomic delights will certainly leave a positive impact on all of our diners,” Derbas said.
