Oman Air appoints Omani nationals to international management positions

Oman Air made five new appointments Sunday, putting citizens to work in Qatar, the Philippines, Africa and Pakistan with another management position being taken in Oman itself.

Oman Air is in the midst of making major personnel moves that will see Omani citizens take up senior management positions in foreign markets to advance the airline’s policy of “Omanization” of their workforce. The airline is undertaking a series of employee transfers and promotions to boost the Omani nature of Oman Air’s international sales force.

The company has moved Ahmed Hazeem Al Balushi, formerly working in the Philippines, to become the manager of Oman Air’s operations in Qatar. Taking his place will be Hamed Mohamed Al Harthi, who is transferring from Oman Air’s hub in Muscat to take over operations in Manila.

Oman Air’s Africa office will now be managed by Mazin Ali Al Busaidi who will run the office from the airline’s Muscat headquarters. Tariq Mohammed Al Balushi is leaving the Muscat office on his way to Islamabad to become Oman Air’s District Sales Manager for Pakistan.

Finally, Adil Ahmed Al Zadjali will return to Oman from Tanzania to take the helm as District Sales Manager.

Oman Air COO Abdulrahaman Al-Busaidy said the new appointments will strengthen the company’s international profile while providing valuable opportunities for Omani citizens.

“We are confident that the managerial changes that we have made within Oman Air’s Sales Department will deliver outstanding commercial results as we continue our ambitious expansion program,” Al-Busaidy said. “The appointments provide invaluable support for Oman Air’s policy of 'Omanization.' This is in line with national policy and provides increased employment and career development opportunities for Omani citizens.”
