Zain Group, one of the Middle East’s leading mobile telecom providers, named Eaman Al Roudhan as CEO of Zain Kuwait, the company’s flagship operation, Sunday.
Al Roudhan, a Kuwaiti national herself, will succeed Omar Al Omar as of December 1. Al Omar will stay on at Zain Group as a senior advisor to the company’s CEO.
Al Roudhan will bring with her more than 18 years of management and leadership experience as she fills the role. She has held numerous positions over her years working at various Zain Group subsidiaries. Most recently, Al Roudhan was the group’s chief regulatory officer.
Al Omar laid the foundations of success in Kuwait since his appointment in 2011 -- a foundation Al Roudhan is keen to build upon Zain Group CEO Scott Gegenheimer said.
“With Mrs. Al Roudhan’s distinguished record and strong background in regulatory affairs, mobile technology, strategy and management, I have every confidence she is the right person to take Zain Kuwait to the next level in solidifying its market leadership,” Gegenheimer said.
Gegenheimer also said he’s proud to move the company forward with a new corporate culture, bringing Al Roudhan in as the first female CEO to be appointed by Zain Group.
For her part, Al Roudhan said she looks forward to taking the helm at Zain Kuwait.
“Zain Kuwait is deeply entrenched in the telecom, economic and social landscape in [Kuwait],” Al Roudhan said. “I feel a strong sense of responsibility to continue working closely with the Zain Group Board and Executive management as well as the highly talented Zain Kuwait team to maintain the mobile operation’s high standards and take it to new heights of innovation and service.”
