Indian businesses look to do business in UAE

An exclusive, invitation-only event for Indian businessmen, organized by Abu Dhabi Ports and the Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC), took place Oct. 20 at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

The theme for the event was “Opportunities in Abu Dhabi: A Global Trade, Manufacturing and Logistics Hub." During the event, representatives from Abu Dhabi Ports gave a presentation about the company's Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) and Khalifa Port.

The keynote speaker was T.P. Seetharam, the Indian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.

“Abu Dhabi Ports values the collaboration with the IBPC that represents top Indian businessmen in the UAE who contribute heavily to the UAE economy," he said.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, said Indian businesses based in the UAE were "keen to expand their business."

"We are happy to introduce the unique offerings of Kizad and Khalifa Port to them,” Al Shamisi said. “Kizad’s outstanding access to markets, world-class infrastructure and dedicated investor support – with Khalifa Port at its doorstep, will prove attractive to their businesses and expansion plans. I am confident that our offerings have the potential to support their efforts to boost trade ties between India and the UAE.”

IBPC President Kulwant Singh agreed with Al Shamisi's sentiments.

“We appreciate the efforts and information shared by Abu Dhabi Ports and promise to arrange delegation visits to Kizad and Khalifa Port in the near future,” Singh said.
